City Council-Planning Commission <br /> General Plan Joint Workshop <br /> October 25,2005 <br /> Planning Department <br />SUBJECT: GENERAL PLAN LAND USE ELEMENT WORKSHOP #3: <br /> HACIENDA TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT <br />PURPOSE: To provide information to the City Council and Planning Commission <br /> regarding the preparation of the Hacienda Transit Oriented <br /> Development Specific Plan, and, following the workshop discussion, <br /> for the City Council to provide feedback to staff and Hacienda Owners <br /> Association. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Receive presentation; following the workshop, provide feedback to staff <br /> and Hacienda Owners Association regarding the land use concepts and <br /> other major issues. <br />SUMMARY: This Staff Report provides a brief overview of the objectives for the <br /> Hacienda Transit-Oriented Specific Plan, and a discussion of several <br /> issues raised by initial background research and existing conditions <br /> analysis. A presentation to be made by the consultant team hired by the <br /> Hacienda Owners Association (HOA) and the East Bay Community <br /> Foundation will provide additional detail on progress to date on the <br /> Specific Plan.
