Because other public agencies and certain private entities may want access to some portions of
the City's GIS data, staff anticipates that the City will be asked to enter into similar agreements
as the one before Council this evening. In that staff has already drafted a model agreement
between other public agencies as well as with a private entity, staff is asking for Council
authority to have the City Manager sign similar agreements. Certainly if such agreements
deviated significantly from those previously approved, staff would return such agreement to
Council for express approval.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City's entering into this agreement. The funds necessary to
enable the data to be provided to the State are being supplied by State through the federal
funding. The City would benefit by receiving a common operating picture during emergency
operations that would be utilized in fire and police vehicles.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Council authorize the City Manager to sign the attached Emergency
Response Management Network Data Sharing Agreement and authorize the City Manager to
sign other data sharing agreements similar to the ones previously approved by Council.
Respectfully Submitted,
~~~~..
William Cody Nelson Fialho
Fire Chief City Manager
SR:05:291
Page 3 of3
