4H
'- ./
pLEASANTONo City Council
Staff Report
October 18, 2005
Parks and Community Services
SUBJECT: AGREEMENT FOR PRINTING SERVICES WITH CASEY
PRINTING, INC., FOR THE PARKS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
DEPARTMENT QUARTERLY ACTIVITIES GUIDE
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an Agreement
with Casey Printing, Inc., to provide printing services for the Parks and
Community Services Department's Quarterly Activities Guide.
SUMMARY: The Parks and Community Services Department produces a quarterly
Activities Guide of its various programs and activities. In 2004, after an
extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the City Council approved a
one-year contract with Casey Printing, Inc. Casey Printing has provided
excellent service, and at a cost less than the previous contractor. Staff would
like to renew the contract with Casey Printing for one (1) year, and retain the
right to extend the contract for two (2) additional years. The Contract would
be renewed by mutual agreement between both parties, and the only items(s)
subject to negotiation would be costs for paper, ink, and gasoline.
Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:
BACKGROUND
The Parks and Community Services Department provides a variety of recreational classes,
preschool activities, environmental education and civic arts programs, and paratransit services.
It also manages and coordinates all youth and adult sports, recreation activities for
developmentally disabled adults, and community-wide special events.
SR 05:281
Page 1
