Fotheringham, Landscape Architects <br /> (MDF) to Prepare the Bernal Community Park Master Plan <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the City Council: <br /> I. Approve the Consultant Agreement with M. D. Fotheringham, <br /> Landscape Architects, to prepare the Bernal Community Park Master <br /> Plan at a cost not to exceed $29,820; and <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement. <br />SUMMARY: On June 21, 2005, the City Council directed staff to proceed with updating <br /> the Draft Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan and the Bernal Community <br /> Park Master Plan consistent with the "Option I Bernal Site Plan." Since <br /> MDF was the winning design firm in the Bernal Property Design <br /> Competition, and is highly knowledgeable of design issues pertinent to the <br /> proposed Bernal Community Park, the firm has been asked to submit a <br /> proposal for finalizing the Park Master Plan. A copy of the proposed <br /> Agreement is attached for the Council's review and approval. <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br />BACKGROUND <br />At its meeting of June 21, 2005, the City Council approved a conceptual site plan ("Option I") <br />for the 318-acre City-owned portion of the Bernal Property. This plan was intended to be used <br />by staff and the project consultants as the basis for updating the Draft Phase II Specific Plan, as <br />well as the Community Park Master Plan.
