Chapter 2.29 <br /> <br />YOUTH COMMISSION <br /> <br />2.29.010 Commission CrgatO: <br />The~ is cr~mted a Youth Commission (Commission). <br /> <br /> 2.29.020 Duties <br />A. The Commission shall advise the City Council on matters related to the youth of <br /> the Community. <br /> <br />B. The duties of the Pleasanton Youth Commission shall include the following: <br /> <br />1. Make recommendations to the City Council regarding policies, services and <br /> issues related to the youth of the community. <br /> <br />2. Act as the "voice" of the community. <br /> <br />3. Act as a communication liaison between Pleasanton's youth conununity and <br /> the City Council. <br /> <br />Research the needs and interest of Pleasanton's youth. Promote an <br />understanding and appreciation of community affairs among the youth of <br />Pleasanton. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Identify and report to the City Council on youth needs and priorities in the <br />City of Pleasanton and remain informed regarding the programs providing <br />youth services to the community. <br /> <br />6. Research and formulate proposed policies, programs and services designed to <br /> meet the needs of the youth community in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />7. Review and evaluate requests received by the City for youth related policies <br /> and services. <br /> <br />8. Represent the City and maintain liaison with the Youth Commissions in other <br /> cities and with youth related agencies in Pleasunton and other cities. <br /> <br />2.29.030 Membershiosl Appointments: <br />A The Commission shall have eleven (11) regular commissioners and three alternate <br /> commissioners all of whom shall be residents of the City. <br /> <br />The eleven (I 1) Youth Commissioners shall include: one (I) student from <br />Amador Valley High School, one (1) student from Foothill High School, one (1) <br /> <br />c:9~ocian~misc\youth commission <br /> <br /> <br />
