Chapter 2.38 <br /> <br />HOUSING COMMISSION <br /> <br />2.38.010 l~,~ri~a..C, lllll~ <br />There is created a Housine Commission (CommissionL by (Ord. 1768 § 2, 1999; Ord. <br />1674 § 1, 1996) <br /> <br />2.38.020 Duties: <br />A. The Commission shall be responsible for advising the City Council on both the <br />affordable housing needs of the community and the methods for meeting, these needs. <br /> <br />B. The duties of the Commission shall include the following: <br /> <br />1. Initiate and pursue opportunities for developing affordable housing within the <br />City. <br /> <br />2. Cooperate with the private housing industry, City commissions and regional <br />agencies to produce new affordable housing and/or to maintain existing affordable <br />housing. <br /> <br />3. Make recommendations to the City Council and/or establish policies regarding <br />affordable housing projects affiliated with the City and the Housing Authority <br />including preference and eligibility criteria for City assisted housing, <br />informational documents, available grant applications, and new affordable <br />housing progranqs. <br /> <br />4. In cooperation with the Human Services Commission. review and make <br />recommendations to the City Council regarding community development block <br />grant applications for capital improvement and rehabilitation projects. <br /> <br />5. Coordinate the property and financial management and tenant related issues at <br />affordable housing projects under the control of the City and/or the Housing <br />Authority of the City, including Ridge View Commons and Kottinger Place. <br /> <br />6. Review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the annual <br />operating budget for the City's Lower Income Housing Fund. <br /> <br />7.
