<br /> 41 <br />pLEA.SANTONc City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> October 4, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br />SUBJECT: REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF THE TRAFFIC <br /> SIGNAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at <br /> the meeting of October 4,2005: <br /> 1. Review the proposals received and award the Traffic Signal <br /> Maintenance Contract to Team Econolite as the qualified lowest <br /> bidder. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract. <br /> 3. Authorize the Public Works Director to review and approve <br /> extra work and possible contract extensions per the provisions <br /> of the Contract. <br />SUMMARY: The City currently operates 99 traffic signals within the City of <br /> Pleasanton. Routine maintenance and emergency repair of these <br /> signals is performed by an outside contractor. Staff solicited <br /> proposals for a new traffic signal maintenance contract and <br /> received three proposals. Team Econolite submitted the lowest <br /> qualified proposal for a monthly amount of $16,335.00. <br /> Team Econolite is a well-established signal maintenance company <br /> that originated in southern California and has recently opened a <br /> northern California office. Team Econolite currently maintains <br /> about 1,400 traffic signals in 24 agencies. Their northern <br /> California facility is located in Santa Clara with a satellite office in <br />SR:05:250 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
