<br />The following table illustrates the number of golf rounds played in 2004, based on a sampling of <br />area golf courses: <br /> <br />Poppy Ridge <br />Sunol <br />Las Positas <br />Metropolitan <br /> <br />6',000 (27. hole facility) <br />,7,,00 (on each of2 golf courses) <br />64,0)8 (on the 18.hole course only) <br />,4,839 <br /> <br />Green Fees Adopted bv the Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />The Operating Agreement with CourseCo, approved by the City Council in January 2004, <br />designated the Parks and Recreation Commission as the body to review and approve golf course <br />rates for Callippe Preserve, On August 29, 200" the Parks and Recreation Commission adopted <br />a fee schedule for the golf course, The published rates for Callippe Preserve are M2 weekdays <br />(M-F), and ~60 weekends for non.residents, Residents will receive a 1,% discount, which <br />equates to $36 weekdays and $) 1 on weekends, Weekday senior rates for those at least 60 years <br />of age were also approved, with residents paying $26 and non.residents $30. Junior rates (under <br />18 years of age) during off peak hours (after 12:00 noon each day) were set at $12/resident and <br />$14/non.resident on weekdays; $17/resident and $20/non.resident on weekends. Cart fees are <br />~Jj/person for an 18 hole round, <br /> <br />The above green fees represent the published rates, CourseCo will have the ability to market the <br />golf course during low.usage periods and provide specials/discounts to maximize revenue <br />during these off peak times. <br /> <br />Callippe Preserve's adopted rates are very competitive, especially since the quality of the facility <br />is comparable to high.end daily fee golf courses and some private courses. Attachment A <br />(Local Golf Course Green Fee and Cart Rental Comparisons) lists 10 local golf courses and <br />compares rates. <br /> <br />Revenue Projections <br /> <br />The attached FY 200,.06 and FY 2006.07 operating budgets (Attachment B.l and B.2) <br />incorporate the fee structure for green fees and cart rentals approved by the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission, and also includes estimated revenues for food and beverage, driving <br />range usage, and pro shop merchandise sales, By utilizing a playing percentage for each of the <br />various green fee categories, CourseCo estimates that the average green fee for each of the <br />projected ",000 golf rounds will be $34,76 in the first full year of operations, yielding ~1.9 <br />million in annual revenue for 2006.07, Similarly, CourseCo is assuming 70% of the golfers will <br />choose to rent an electric cart to play their round, yielding an average of $9.10 per golfer <br />($)00,)00 in annual revenue), Applying the projected average per golfer for food and beverage <br />($7,00 per round), merchandise sales ($,jO), driving range ($2,14) and miscellaneous ($1.00), <br /> <br />SR 0,:2" <br />Page) <br />
