45. Approval for the number, type and location of all public and private fire hydrants <br /> shall be subject to the approval of the Fire Chief and the City Engineer. <br /> <br />46. Prior to any framing construction, an applicant shall provide adequate fire protection <br /> facilities, including, but not limited to, surface roads, fire hydrants, and a water supply <br /> and water flow sufficient to City Fire Department Standards to suppress a major fire. <br /> If prior to any framing construction an applicant proposes in writing an alternative <br /> method of fire protection, the Fire Chief may allow the alternative method of fire <br /> protection. <br /> <br />47. All public and private streets, driveways, aisles, and alleys designated as fire lanes by <br /> the Fire Chief shall be maintained in accordance with Articles 9 and 10 of the <br /> Uniform Fire Code which includes tow of vehicles illegally parked on the fire lanes. <br /> Fire lane curbs shall be painted red with "No Parking Fire Lane" or "No Parking Fire <br /> Lane" signs installed as required by the vehicle code. <br /> <br />48. All curbs within a 7 1/2 foot radius of a public hydrant shall be painted red, unless <br /> modified by the Pleasanton Municipal Code or Fire Chief. Blue street "hydrant <br /> markers" shall be installed for all fire hydrants per City of Pleasanton Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> <br />49. The final design of the EVA, including the type of pavement, design of barrier at <br /> intersection with public streets, etc., shall be submitted for the review and approval by <br /> the Fire Chief and Planning Director prior to the recordation of the final map. The <br /> EVA shall be designed to also function as a pedestrian and bicycle access to the future <br /> park. The width of the EVA between the two proposed lots on the (PUD-99-6) <br /> property shall be increased another 5 ft. on both sides to allow ample landscaping on <br /> the outside of the fencing for both adjoining lots. The proposed landscaping for this <br /> area along the EVA shall be submitted for the review and approval of the Planning <br /> Director prior to the recordation of the final map. <br /> <br />50. The EVA shown on Lot 7 of the McGuire property (PUD-99-6) shall be deleted. <br /> <br />Engineering Department Requirements <br /> <br />51. The developer shall install street frontage improvements along the project's Vineyard <br /> Avenue and Clara Lane frontage per Chapter 19.40.010 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. These improvements shall be <br /> consistent with the street design standards approved in the Vineyard Avenue Corridor <br /> Specific Plan and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, grading, curb and <br /> gutter, sidewalk, paving, storm drain, sanitary sewer, water facilities, street lighting, <br /> underground utilities, traffic control devices, landscaping, and automatic irrigation <br /> <br /> Page 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
