Section 7: Chapter 7.32 (Rabies) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code shall be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Chapter 7.32 Rabies <br /> <br />7.32.010 Biting animals to be quarantined. Whenever it is shown that any dog or other <br />animal has bitten any person or animals, or exhibits evidence of rabies, no owner or person <br />having custody or possession thereof, upon order of the Chief of Policeheal~h v. fficzr, shall fall, <br />refuse or neglect to quarantine such animal and keep it tied up or confined for a period of ten <br />days, or shall fail, refuse or neglect to allow the .............. .~hief of Pohce ........ v ..... to <br />make an inspection or examination thereof at any time during said period. No such dog or animal <br />shall be removed or released during the quarantine period without written permission of the <br />t.~n,~. Acc. ..... ~':~ ~ ..... :~'-'h'ef of Poi' Unless otherwise specified by the hcalt~ <br />afficc:Chief of Police, such animals shall be confined in a shelter or veterinary hospital at the <br />owner's expense. <br /> <br />7.32.020, no change. <br /> <br />7.32.030 Knowledge of bite - Duty to report. Whenever any ownerg~rg~n ~a;'ing charge, care, <br />............... j v. ~ .......... of any animal has knowledge that such animal has bitten any <br />person or animal, or has been bitten by another animal, the owne .rpersen ha:'ing charge, care, <br />.............. The report shall state the name and address of the person bitten, and description of the <br />animal bitten, if any, and the time and place where such person or animal was bitten, and any <br />other information so requested by the dirzctc..'Chief of Police. A copy of the report shall be <br />forwarded by the dirzctc, rChief of Police to the county health officer within forty-eight hours." <br /> <br />Section 8: Chapter 7.36 (Miscellaneous Animal Regulations) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br />shall be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Chapter 7.36 Miscellaneous Animal Regulations <br /> <br />7.36.010 Household pets. The keeping or maintenance of any household pet or pets or any <br />other animal or animals in such manner, number or kind as to cause damage or hazard to persons <br />or property in the vicinity or to generate offensive noise, dust or odor, shall not be permitted. <br /> <br /> 7.36.020 Police dogs - Interference or mistreatment. No person shall ;;51f~l!)avillfullv or <br /> maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any dog used by <br /> the county sheriff or police department in the performance of the functions or duties of such <br /> department, or interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used by the department or <br /> any member thereof in the performance of any of the functions or duties of the department or of <br /> such officer or member. <br /> <br /> <br />
