Approve the contract for an amount not-to-exceed $163,360 with
Pakpour Consulting Group, Inc. to provide consultant services for
the design of the Longview Drive water line and improvements for
sewer facilities at various locations City-wide.

2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contract.

SUMMARY: The consultant agreement provides for the design of new parallel water
lines on Longview Drive and improvements to the existing sewer mains at
various locations City-wide. The project was approved in the Capital
Improvement Program as Longview Pump Station Parallel Discharge Line
and Annual Sewer Replacement for the years 2002 to 2005. The
Longview pipeline will reinforce the backbone transmission system and
eliminate the existing bottleneck on the discharge side of the Longview
pump station. Also, improvements for the sewer mains will replace
existing sewer facilities that are over 35 years old. The sewer
improvements will include the installation of new 8" sewer mains,
maintenance holes, and laterals with two-way clean-outs.

SR:05:202
