THE CITY OF 4L <br />pL£ AS&NTON, CityCouncil <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> July 7, 2005 <br /> City Manager <br /> <br />SUBJECT YOUTH MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE (YMPIC) <br /> REPRESENTATIVES FOR 2005-06 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends the City Council ratify the list of recommended <br /> representatives to the Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee for <br /> 2005-06. <br /> <br />SUMMARY In the past several months, the current YMPIC members discussed and <br /> voted to increase the representation serving the committee. A subcommittee <br /> of the YMPIC conducted applicant interviews and presented a <br /> recommendation to the PUSD Liaison Committee in June. The <br /> recommended representatives will fill both the current vacancies left by <br /> graduating students and the newly voted positions to serve the committee. <br /> The PUSD Liaison Committee ratified the recommendation. As part of the <br /> process, both the City Council and the PUSD Board of Trustees must <br /> separately consider the matter at a regularly scheduled meeting. Once <br /> ratified, the representatives will serve the YMPIC for the 2005-06 school <br /> year. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />This report provides an update regarding the structure and representation of members serving the <br />Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee (YMPIC). During meetings held earlier this year, <br />the topic of broad community representation was discussed. Based on the changing needs of the <br />committee, and the desire to increase the representation to better reflect and serve the youth of <br />Pleasanton, the YMPIC discussed and voted to increase the membership of the committee.
