THE CITY OF 4H <br />[2L£AS&NTON CityCouncil <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> July 19, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH ENGEO INCORPORATED TO <br /> MONITOR THE GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICTS <br /> (GHAD'S) [OAK TREE FARM, TRACT 6563 AND TRACT 6748; <br /> MOLLER RANCH, TRACT 6618; LAUREL CREEK ESTATES <br /> (THE PRESERVE, OAK HILL ESTATES, AND KOLB RANCH <br /> ESTATES), TRACT 6400, TRACT 6590, TRACT 7045, AND <br /> TRACT 6951; AND LEMOINE RANCH ESTATES, TRACT 7176] <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of July 19, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Convene as the Board of Directors for the Oak Tree Farm, Moller <br /> Ranch, Laurel Creek Estates (The Preserve, Oak Hill Estates and <br /> Kolb Ranch Estates) and Lemoine Ranch Estates Geologic Hazard <br /> Abatement Districts and approve the attached professional services <br /> contracts with Engeo Incorporated. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts with <br /> Engeo Incorporated. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: A Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD) is a property assessment <br /> district that is used to pay for any landslide repairs and related geologic <br /> and storm drainage maintenance and repair work within the district. The <br /> City has formed four GHAD's, all of which are located on the west side <br /> of Foothill Road and require annual monitoring and maintenance of <br /> geologic features. The current contract for the monitoring of the GHAD's <br /> has expired and staff is recommending that the Districts continue to use <br /> Engeo for monitoring of the City's GHAD's. <br /> <br /> SR:05:189 <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
