damaged curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway, and the installation of <br /> access ramps. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Project No. 045009 (Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement) <br /> <br />Project No. 045009 was authorized under the FY 2004/2005 Capital Improvement Program. <br />The funding source is the Streets General Fund. The project consists of the removal and <br />replacement of approximately 4,616 SF of sidewalk and driveway, 1,257 LF of curb and <br />gutter and 138 LF of PVC pipe for curb through drains, and 22 access ramps on Junipero <br />Street, Blackbird Way, Fairfield Court, Mallard Drive, Nevis Street and San Antonio Street. <br />A new driveway, fencing and gates, will also be constructed on Haleakala Court at the Zone 7 <br />entrance. This driveway will provide improved access to the existing Zone 7 maintenance <br />road, as well as pedestrian access to the trail along the Pleasanton Canal. The purpose of this <br />project is to improve drainage and pedestrian safety. <br /> <br />Prqiect No. 045003CS (Annual Street Resurfacing) <br /> <br />Project No. 045003CS was authorized under the FY 2004/2005 Capital Improvement <br />Program. The funding source is the Streets General Fund. The project consists of the removal <br />and replacement of approximately 780 SF of sidewalk and driveway, 94 LF of curb and gutter <br />and the installation of 40 LF of PVC pipe for curb through drains and 5 access ramps on <br />Weymouth Court, Chelsea Court, Gapwall Court, Mairmont Drive and Tanglewood Court. <br />The purpose of this project is to improve drainage and pedestrian safety on those streets that <br />are scheduled for repaving later this year. <br /> <br /> Project No. 015031 (Pleasanton Avenue Reconstruction) <br /> <br /> Project No. 015031 was authorized under the 2001/2002 Capital Improvement Program. The <br /> funding source is Measure B funds. This project is currently funded under the Pleasanton <br /> Avenue Reconstruction Project from Rose Avenue to Division Street, CIP No. 015031. The <br /> Pleasanton Avenue Reconstruction Project includes new street pavement sections, curb, gutter <br /> and sidewalk, and landscaping. For cost savings, and in order to minimize construction <br /> impacts to local residents, the Pleasanton Avenue Reconstruction Project is divided into two <br /> construction phases. <br /> <br /> Phase 1 consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 806 LF of damaged <br /> concrete curb and gutter, 931 SF of concrete sidewalk and driveway, and two access ramps. <br /> A total of six unhealthy trees will be removed.
