THE CITY OF <br /> <br />pL£AS?rNTON <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> June 21, 2005 <br />Deputy City Manager <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOUR YEAR <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 2005- <br />2006 THROUGH 2008-2009 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Adopt the proposed Capital Improvement Program for fiscal years <br /> 2005-2006 through 2008-2009 as presented. <br /> <br /> 2. Appropriate the revenues and approve project expenditures for the <br /> projects recommended for funding in fiscal years 2005-2006 and <br /> 2006-2007. <br /> <br />SUMMARY Every two years the City Council adopts a Capital Improvement Program to <br /> assure that infrastructure and capital improvement needs are adequately <br /> addressed and planned. The proposed Capital Improvement Program <br /> establishes a course of action to meet improvement needs over the next four <br /> years. The first two years of the program are recommended for funding. <br /> The final two years of the program are included for planning purposes only. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Capital Improvement Program has been prepared to provide the City Council with <br />information necessary to determine capital improvement needs over the next four years. The <br />program contains recommendations for funded projects and available revenues. As with any <br />forecasting program, unforeseen changes in the economy, funding, and other conditions may <br />substantially impact the priorities as set forth in this program.
