PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. PC-94-16

RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AS FILED UNDER
CASE UP-94-0S, THE APPLICATION OF AMERICAN BANKERS ACCEPTANCE
CORPORATION

WHEREAS, American Bankers Acceptance Corporation has applied for
a conditional use permit to allow outdoor warehousing of
repossessed automobiles on an approximately 1.5 acre lot
located at 3878 stanley Boulevard; and

WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-S (Service Commercial)
District; and

WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of April 13, 1994,
the Planning commission considered all pUblic testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and

WHEREAS, the Planning commission made the following findings:

A. The proposed location of the conditional use is in
accordance with the Objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.

Some of the objectives of the zoning ordinance are
to: foster a harmonious, convenient, workable
relationship among land uses, protect existing land
uses from inharmonious influences and harmful
intrusions, and to insure that public and private
lands ultimately are used for the purposes which
are most appropriate and beneficial to the City as
a whole. The proposed auto storage facility would
be consistent with these objectives in that it
provides an acceptable interim use of the property
until redevelopment occurs in the area. In
addition, the proposed use can function in a manner
which does not impact or interfere with the
surrounding uses.

The subject site is located within a service
commercial zoning district. The purpose of the
service commercial district is to provide locations
for uses that normally require relatively large
sites with off-street parking, attract little or no
pedestrian traffic, and have features that are
incompatible with other commercial districts. The
proposed use to be in keeping with purposes of the
C-S District.

JI

II

.

. ,

.
