THE CITY OF <br /> <br />pL£AS&NTON <br /> <br />65 <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> June 21, 2005 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR TIlE <br />VINEYARD AVENUE JOINT TRENCH, PROJECT NO. 025014JT <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actiOn at the <br />meeting of June 21, 2005: <br /> <br />1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br />Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the <br />subject project. <br /> <br />Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $25,556.71 to <br />Lewis & Tibbits, Inc. thirty days after filing the Notice of <br />Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Construction of the subject project is complete and is ready for <br />acceptance. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On August 3, 2004, Pleasanton's City Council awarded the contract for the referenced project <br />to Lewis & Tibbits Inc. for the low bid amount of $498,912.00.
