<br />Who Verifies: Planning Department. <br /> <br />Historic and Archaeoloqic Resources <br /> <br />2l. Protect prehistoric resources (page l06). <br /> <br />Who: <br />What: <br /> <br />Individual developers and contractors. <br />Personnel involved in ground clearing shall be <br />alerted to the potential of the discovery of <br />prehistoric materials. Indicators of potential <br />finds include, but are not limited to the <br />following: soils darker than the surrounding soils, <br />amounts of bone or shellfish mixed in the soils, <br />any signs of fire (ash, charcoal, baked clay, <br />carbon or fire altered rock), any identifiable <br />artifacts of stone, bone or shellfish, and any <br />burials. <br />Instruction shall be given to stop work in the <br />event of a discovery until a qualified <br />archaeologist has inspected the find and has <br />developed recommendations for its evaluation and <br />specific mitigation under current CEQA guidelines. <br />Prior to initiating ground clearing andlor grading. <br />PUblic Works and Building Inspection Departments. <br /> <br />When: <br />Who Verifies: <br /> <br />22.
