Section 1 <br />INFORMATION FOR CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />1-01. PROPOSAL FORM <br /> <br />In order to receive consideration, all proposals shall be made in accordance with the following <br />instructions: <br /> <br />Proposal shall be made upon the form provided therefore, properly executed and with all <br />items filled out; the signature of all persons signing shall be in longhand. Additional <br />information regarding a proposal may be attached to the form. <br /> <br />B. Late proposals will be returned to the contractor unopened. <br /> <br />Each proposal shall be addressed to the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, and shall be <br />delivered to the office of the Clerk of the City of Pleasanton on or before the day and hour set <br />for receipt of proposals. The proposal shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title <br />of the work and the name of the party submitting the proposal. It is the sole responsibility of <br />the contractor to see the proposal is received in proper time. <br /> <br />1-02. EXAMINATION OF FACILITIES - MANDATORY SITE VISIT <br /> <br />Before submitting a proposal, each contractor shall carefully read the Specifications and all other <br />Contract Documents. The contractor shall visit the facilities and shall fully inform himself/herself as to <br />all existing conditions and limitations under which the work is to be performed, and he/she shall include <br />in his/her proposal a sum to cover the cost of all items necessary to perform the work as set forth in the <br />Contract Documents. Site visits will be made on APRIL 7, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. All Contractors submitting <br />a bid must attend this site visit. PROOF OF COMPETENCY OF CONTRACTOR <br /> <br />Any contractor may be required to furnish evidence satisfactory to Owner that he/she and his/her <br />proposed subcontractors have sufficient means and experience in the type of work called for to insure <br />completion of the contract in a satisfactory manner. <br /> <br />1-04. WITHDRAWL OF PROPOSAL <br /> <br />Any contractor may withdraw a proposal, either personally or by a written request, at any time prior to <br />the scheduled time for receipt of the proposals. <br /> <br />1-05. AWARD OR REJECTION OF PROPOSALS <br /> <br />The contract shall be awarded based on a number of factors including but not limited to experience, <br />references, proposed method of providing services and cost.
