Proposal for Design Services <br />Mamh 5, 2004 Rev. August 13, 2004 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />Phase 2: Desi.qn Development/Construction Documents/Bidding <br />During this period we can establish regular meetings with Staff. A cost opinion be provided at <br />approximately 50% complete to verify that the project is on budget, allowing time to make adjustments or <br />add alternates if necessary. <br /> <br />We assume the project will be a public bid among "pro-qualified" bidders. We also assume that the City <br />staff will provide City Standard General Conditions, Division 1, and Bidding Instructions and administer the <br />bidding process. <br /> <br />Process/Product: · Complete set of construction documents and technical specifications for bidding by the City. <br /> · Cost Estimate (optional, not part of basic services) <br /> · Monthly meetings with City Staff <br /> <br />Estimated professional fees = $30,000 <br /> <br />Phase 3: Construction Period Services <br />The extent of construction period services will be moro clearly defined with the City of Pleasanton as the <br />project develops. Our experience indicates that support from the architect to the client's construction <br />representative is a minimum of about 1/4 time to answer questions and Requests for Information, review <br />submittals, attend 4 meetings, review the progress of construction, and review progress billings if <br />requested. Additional support from the consultant team will be directed through the architect. <br /> <br />Estimated professional fees = $10,000 <br /> <br />SCHEDULE <br />We have provided a preliminary schedule for the phases identified above. Time will need to be allowed <br />for approvals pdor to starting the documents preparation phase. Design DevelopmentJConstruction <br />Documents period allows time for reviews with City Staff. <br /> <br />Phase 1 <br />· Task 1 Investigation of existing conditions 2 weeks <br />· Task 2 Concept / Schematic design 4 weeks <br /> <br />Subtotal 6 weeks <br /> <br />Phase 2 Design DevelopmentJConstruction Doc. <br /> <br />8 weeks <br /> <br />Bidding, Contract Award <br /> <br />8 weeks <br /> <br />Phase 3 Construction 16 weeks <br /> <br /> <br />
