PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASAHTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-91-48 RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-91-30 FOR VALLEY COMMUNITY CHURCH WHEREAS, Valley community Church has applied for a conditional use permit to allow the installation of a temporary circus type tent for a week-long children's program (July 28 through August 2, 1991) at the Valley Community Church located at 4455 Del Valle parkway; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is P (Public and Institutional) District; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 10, 1991, the Planning commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the city staff concerning this application; and WHEREAS, the Planning commission made the following findings: A. The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which the site is located. Some of the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the Public and Institutional District are to: foster a harmonious, convenient, workable relationship among land uses, protect existing land uses from inharmonious influences and harmful intrusions, and to ensure that public and private lands ultimately are used for the purposes which are most appropriate and beneficial to the City as a whole. The proposed church use would be consistent with these objectives. Due to its limited hours of operation, the use will not interfere with surrounding uses' ability to operate. As conditioned, the proposed use will be compatible with the adjacent residential neighborhood. In addition, the applicant would also be required to obtain city approval if any modifications are proposed in the operation of the tent in a subsequent year.
