Helen McNutt, 760 Mockingbird, urged that the Commission take into consideration those
people who will be affected the most, especially the Greenes and the Benevides. She noted
that the City has always made concessions on the south end of Sycamore Road; she hoped
they would do the same for the north end.

Tom Daggett, 6034 Alisal, presented a letter to the Commission. He urged the Commission
look at everyone's property rights, especially the Frosts, Greenes, and Benevides.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

Chairman Mahern said she had made a list of items for the Commission to discuss and asked
the Commission to attempt to come up with a consensus.

In response to a comment from the citizens, Commissioner Michelotti reminded them that
when a plan of this magnitude comes before staff and the Commission, that changes are
inevitable. Staff and the Commission are simply trying to be sensitive to input, therefore,
changes in plans must be made.

COLLECTOR ROAD:

The biggest concern was how a collector road would affect the Greenes, Frosts, and
Benevides properties.

After discussion, the Commission concluded it wanted to limit the road to 40 ft. in width
(exclusive of the pedestrian path), retain the rural character as in Foothill Road; and provide
an asphalt pedestrian path varying from three to five feet in width.

Commissioner Michelotti stressed that the road should definitely stay away from the Greenes'
property, and from the Benevides' property by at least 25 ft. as he requested. She felt the
road should go through those properties that are asking for development. Mr. Rasmussen
commented that Alternative Road Scheme 7 A with the narrower road section should be
workable for the Greene's and Benevides' properties.

Chairman Mahern asked if any of the Commissioners favored the idea that Sycamore Road
be the east/west collector road. The consensus was that they did not.

Mr. Rasmussen stated that Alternative Road Scheme 7A is the closest to what most everyone
wants; however, it does take some of the Greenes property. He said he would work with the
Greenes and Benevides to see what they could come up with.

Further discussion ensued with the consensus being that the Commission favored Alternative
7A for the collector road. Commissioner Hovingh favored Alternative 6.

SOUTHERN~MOST PART OF COLLECTOR ROAD (NEAR FROST PROPERTY)

After discussion, the Commission concluded it favors a southern access to serve a portion of
the South Pleasanton area.

Miootel Plannina: Commission Mcetina
Octobcr9.1991

Page 8

I.

.
