~

is delayed, that the plan for the Bonde property should also be delayed. He
reiterated that the main desire is to keep excess traffic off of Sycamore Road, and
is opposed to traffic coming from Lund 1 and Lund 2. He said he has been to
about 60 meetings on this matter and felt that some of the Alisal Improvement
Club's requests could be attained, as he felt the requests of the Lund Ranch were
granted to them.

Commissioner Michelotti asked Mr. Van Wegen what he is specifically objecting.
Mr. Van Wegen said he is opposed to the office and medium density which he
feels is dumping onto Sycamore Road, according to the latest City plan that he has
seen. He went to the map and showed her the location of concern. He thought
there would be 600-700 trips per day dumped onto Sycamore from that area. He
felt that problem needs to be solved.

Mr. Swift clarified that Alternative 4 does not propose to extend the Mavridis road
to the east; and indicated that office traffic would not be dumped onto Sycamore
Road. He also noted that all four of the plans are interchangeable.

Commissioner McGuirk discussed Mr. Van Wegen's comment that he wished to
get on with the project. Commissioner McGuirk felt that Mr. Van Wegen would
want to have the situation looked at as closely as possible. Mr. Van Wegen felt
that whereas the majority of the residents agree right now, in two years or
whatever the study might take, they might not agree.

Mary Greene, 386 Sycamore Road, represented her parents, William and Catherine
Greene. She presented pictures of their property, along with her written
comments. She read her comments for the Commission, stating that the N.
Sycamore Plan would cut their property in half, with one acre being destroyed.
She said they have always been opposed to the plan and remain so.

Chairman Mahern asked Ms. Greene if any of the four alternatives would be
acceptable to her. Ms. Greene said they would not be acceptable, even though
Alternative 2 is the only one that does not show a road going through her
property.

Stan Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, stated he feels that the developers all think they
have the right to make a big profit; he felt he had the right to have ample water.
He did not think it right for existing residents to possibly have to give up their
water for future developers to make money.
He felt the Commission should make it more difficult for developers.

Ron Wacek, 5771 San Antonio Street, represented Mission Park Home
Association. He stated they wish to go on record as endorsing none of the project

~

MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION APRIL 24, 1991 Page 6

,.

-
