in the context of City Government's business model, it wreaks of "We
can make more money..."
Emphasis the concept of the City of Pleasanton "meeting the needs of
its residents". Eliminate the word "members". Membership implies a
club. Residents are not "members".
Emphasize "City of Pleasanton valuing quality of life by doing the
following... (see list above, expanding access, hours, etc.)

Conclusion
It is no coincidence that the President of the United States has put
forth a "vision" of what he would like the health care industry to
become over the next ten years...a "person-centric, information-rich"
industry.
I would like the City of Pleasanton to view its role as applying that
leadership on a local level to the concept of providing
"person-centric, information-rich" governance at the local level. By
focusing City of Pleasanton services on those persons who are too young
to speak (kids), and too old to be viewed as contributing to prosperity
anymore in an economic model which values prosperity, it will be
assured that the connnunity of Pleasanton will improve to be the best
community that it can be. If we focus on the details, and ignore our
tendency toward self-congratulatory sentiment, it should be recognized
that we have a long way to go to become what we truly aspire to be.

Sincerely,

Stephen J. Page

P.S. I am available to assist in the "visioning" process, should anyone
care for more input.

-end

(c) Copyright, 2005. Stephen J. Page.
