THE CITY OF 40 <br />[2L£A$ kNTON CityCouncil <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> June 7, 2005 <br /> Parks and Community Services Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR PARK <br /> PATHWAY REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 027021 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> That the City Council take the following actions at its meeting on June 7, <br /> 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Review the bids received and award the contract for construction of <br /> the subject project to Suarez and Munoz Construction, for a low bid <br /> of $287,576. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the transfer of $40,038 to this project from CIP No. <br /> 017043, Foothill Road Landscape Renovation Project; and <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for the projdct. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: Competitive bids have been received for the Park Pathway Replacement <br /> Project, and staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the <br /> low bidder, Suarez and Munoz Construction Company, in the amount of <br /> $287,576. The project consists of the replacement of deteriorated asphalt <br /> pathways with concrete in four (4) neighborhood parks: Orloff Park, <br /> Harvest Park, Woodthrush Park and Walnut Grove Park.
