· Services provided include providing live animals at the shelter with food and water <br /> and/or veterinary care, euthanizing animals not otherwise adopted, redeemed, sold or <br /> donated to adopting organizations, spay/neutering of dogs and cats, disposing of dead <br /> animals, providing all building maintenance services including utility services and <br /> supplying all necessary repair, training, supervision and equipment necessary to operate <br /> the shelter. <br /> <br />As indicated, the current agreement has been negotiated by the Alameda County Sheriff's <br />Department and representatives on the Shelter Operations Advisory Committee and at this time <br />it is being recommended for approval to the cities of Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton. <br />Following approval of the Memorandum of Understanding, the agreement will be presented to <br />the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for their approval. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no direct financial impact as a result of this agreement. However, the City will continue <br />to share the cost of providing shelter operations, which is estimated at approximately $175,000 to <br />$195,000 per year. Costs are subject to the police department budget (123205-4329). In addition <br />to the costs associated with this contract, the City continues to pay its share o£ the debt service <br />for the shelter building. The City's share of the debt service is approximately $101,000 annually. <br />Like operating costs, the total amount owed by the City is based on usage and as a result, it is <br />subject to change.
