Even though it is not directly related to this application, Mr. Thomas spoke to the neighbors'
complaints about California Burgers. A new type of grill was suggested by a restaurant
supplier which will be tested.

Commissioner McGuirk inquired where staff thought the delivery trucks would park to make
deliveries to the front of Color Tile. Staff stated most trucks park near Trader Joe's or they
can park in the outside edges of the parking lot wherever there is room and hand cart the
delivery to the stores.

The Commissioners adjourned to the front of the building to listen to the electric hand cart
while in operation.

PUBLIC HEARING WAS CWSED

Commissioner Hovingh recommends approval, and Commissioner Lutz concurs.
Commissioner McGuirk has concern because it is not clear to him that the rear access area is
restricted to all traffic except for emergency or City purposes. Commissioner Barker feels
the hand cart is not a nuisance and does not feel the delivery through the front door will be a
problem. She supports staff recommendations.

Commissioner Dove inquired if the front door would accommodate the size of a pallet. The
applicant stated it would, although their concern is the weight of the hand cart.

A motion was made by Commissioner Hovingh, seconded by Commissioner Lutz,
recommending approval of Case PUD-80-1S-5D-SM to the City Council, subject to the
conditions of approval listed in Exhibit B.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Hovingh, Lutz, Barker
Commissioners McGuirk and Dove
None
Chairman Wright

Resolution No. PC-94-S8 was entered recommending approval of Case PUD-80-1S-5D-
SM, as motioned.

~ Z-94-187.
