<br />Resolution No. PC-94-19 was entered and adopted upholding the decision of the <br />Planning Director regarding the PUD conformity of proposed private roadway <br />improvements by Mannie Joel and Martha Greist. <br /> <br />l:.. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSIONMRMRRRS <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh reported that Mayor Tarver believes the new Commission members <br />will be seated at the fIrst meeting in June or possibly the second meeting of May. <br />Commission appointments may be ratified at the City Council's May 17th meeting. A more <br />formal swearing-in ceremony may also be initiated. <br /> <br />Chairman McGuirk advised staff that his chairmanship is over in May. He inquired of the <br />process to elect a new chairperson. Mr. Swift stated a new chairperson should be selected <br />before Chairman McGuirk's last meeting. The selection could be continued, as has been <br />done in the past, or a new chairman could be selected before the Council ratifies the <br />Commission members. Commissioner Mahern advised that her appointment to Chairperson <br />had been done before their official re-appointment to the Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh proposed that a formal resolution be drafted expressing the <br />Commission's confidence in the City Staff in response to an article in the April 20, 1994, <br />edition of The Ind~pendent newspaper. He extremely objects to the article's content and <br />feels the article is an example of "yellow journalism." Commissioner Hovingh stated that he <br />totally supports the integrity and professionalism of the City Planning Staff.
