<br />~ Commissioner Michelotti inquired if she had spoken to her neighbors. Ms. Harris stated she <br />had talked with her immediate neighbors. <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Michelotti, Ms. Harris stated she would use only one room in <br />her house if that was the requirement of the City. <br /> <br />Also, Ms. Harris advised the Commission she would continue at her regular job while <br />starting up her business in the ultimate goal of getting her own storefront and working the <br />electrolysis business full time. Furthermore, she would not conduct business on Saturday if <br />that was a concern for the Commission or her neighborhood. <br /> <br />In response to Chairman McGuirk, Ms. Harris stated her residence has two separate <br />driveways, providing adequate off-street parking for her personal vehicles as well as those of <br />her clientele. <br /> <br />Chairman McGuirk inquired how long the electrolysis process took. Ms. Harris described it <br />as very individualized, but generally appointments are every week for the first six weeks, <br />then twice monthly, then monthly, tapering off gradually. The total time involved is about <br />14 months. <br /> <br />Chairman McGuirk inquired to the size of the electrolysis equipment. Ms. Harris referred to <br />Exhibit A where she had listed the equipment and its size. <br /> <br />Jenny Anderson, 2093 Greenwood Road, a neighbor of the applicant, stated she is very <br />disturbed about the application for the in-home electrolysis business. Ms. Anderson <br />described their neighborhood as a traditional neighborhood and feels it will set a precedence <br />for more in-home businesses in the neighborhood. She feels the business will increase the <br />traffic in the neighborhood. Ms. Anderson also voiced her concern regarding who would <br />monitor that Ms. Harris abides by the conditions of approval. <br /> <br />Linda Wick, 2049 Greenwood Road, stated her opposition to this type of business in the <br />residential neighborhood. She also feels this will lead to more businesses in the area, <br />resulting in increased traffic. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright indicated he was concerned about using two rooms of the residence for <br />the business. He feels electrolysis is not as "untraditional" as some other in-home <br />businesses. Furthermore, he feels the business will not significantly add traffic to the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti also stated the use of two rooms would render the application as <br />non-conforming.
