~

6.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

a. Z-94-14. Dublin San Ramon Services District
Application for design review approval to construct an approximately 5,283 square foot,
two-story addition to the existing operations building located at 7399 Johnson Drive.
Zoning for the property is Public and Institutional District.

Mr. Swift presented the staff report requesting approval for the Dublin San Ramon Services
District to construct a second story addition to their Stoneridge Drive building. Areas of
concern for staff were the overall height of the building (approximately 37 feet) and changing
the proposed exterior color to a darker shade. Mr. Swift recommended approval of Case
Z-94-14 subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit "B."

PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED.

Mr. Roger Beebe represented the Dublin San Ramon Services District. Mr. Beebe stated he
had read and agree with the staff report and conditions. He stated the District would have
rather built a single story building but couldn't find a suitable location and future expansion
of water treatment tanks precluded expanding their one story building on one level.

In response to Commissioner Hovingh, the speaker stated the increased square footage of the
building would be used to install new laboratory and ventilation equipment. They have no
plans to increase the number of District employees in this building.

Chairman McGuirk inquired if additional landscaping could be planted to mitigate the
westerly view from the Stoneridge overpass. Mr. Beebe stated they would add landscaping
to minimize the impact and agreed to work with City staff.

PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

A motion was made by Commissioner Hovingh, seconded by Commissioner Michelotti,
approving Case Z-94-14, subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit liB.
