MATIERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Michelotti advised the Commission that the Pleasanton Middle School students
who presented their plans for the San Francisco Water District property at the last Planning
Commission meeting also had their picture in the paper in recognition of their study group.

Commissioner Michelotti also stated the School Board is proposing a building project at the
corner of First and Abbey Streets. She inquired if staff had any contact from the School
District. Mr. Swift advised he had been notified just prior to the School Board's meeting.
Commissioner Michelotti stated her desire that this project be brought to the City for a
design review. Staff advised the School Board's decision meant the Board intends the
building to be an educational facility, therefore, it is exempt from the City's building
ordinances and does not require design review approval before construction. Mr. Swift
stated the School Board intends to refer the plans to staff for their review and comment;

Planning Commission Minutes

Page 3

February 9, 1994
