~

Construction costs would be paid by the City of Pleasanton, while entrance fees would pay
for maintenance and repairs. The various park activities/facilities will be accessible by a
continuously running bus system inside the park.

Commissioner Hovingh commended the students for including facilities and activities for the
physically handicapped.

Commissioner Mahern inquired if they had made an environmental study. The students feel
the existing habitat could co-exist because it is a rural park.

Chairman McGuirk inquired if they had incorporated lighting in the park. They had not
taken lighting into consideration in their planning.

Commissioner Michelotti inquired if the proposed dance classes were an expansion of those
taught through the City. The students indicated the classes incorporate tots to adults, with
various different dances taught in separate buildings.

Commissioner Wright inquired if this park would be owned and operated by the City. The
group envisioned it to be incorporated into the Park and Recreation Department.

Commissioner Michelotti commended the students for being farsighted planners.

The Commission advised the group to submit their ideas to the General Plan Steering
Committee, thereby their good ideas may be incorporated into other areas/parks in
Pleasanton.

4.
