Mr. Swift <br />reported that volunteer professionals have been used since the Desig~ Review Board was <br />resolved, and the City has been successful in getting help when needed. It has proved to be <br />a quick, informal method of review. ! <br /> <br />Mr. Swift further stated the hired architects could be local professi)alS, though they would <br />have to agree not to do any development work in the community fo~ at least a year while <br />they are associated with the City. The proposed Walmart project w*l be the first project <br />where an outside architect will be hired to assist the City and appli~t. The applicant will <br />pay the cost of the hired architect. There are no restrictions impose1i on the volunteer <br />professionals. : <br />I <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh indicated he did not see any requirement that the architect needed to <br />be licensed.
