Zoning for the property <br />Development) - Industrial District. <br /> <br /> <br />ons for children at the <br />PUD (planned Unit <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Case UP-93-33, subject to <br />the conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk commented on the reference under the "Lan Use" section of the <br />staff report to an adjacent business which assembles equipment that roduces foaming agents <br />for sewers, and asked if there is a storage facility that would create harmful situation for <br />the gymnasium. Mr. Swift responded that all storage is inside. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />Karlai Pons, 2436 Crescent Drive, Concord, represented the applica on. She stated that she <br />has read the staff report and is in agreement with the conditions of a proval. In response to <br />Commissioner Michelotti's question, Ms. Pons advised that the gym asium is currently <br />located two buildings from the proposed site. <br /> <br />David Crockett, 1279 Quarry Lane, Suite C, advised that he is the ety officer for <br />Airrigation, the company which occupies the suite adjacent to the pr posed site. He noted <br />that the truck and fork lift traffic in the area could present a poten' risk to students <br />attending the gymnastics school. He suggested that parking for the hool be limited to the <br />northwest quadrant of the parking lot. He expressed concern about tudents using the second <br />exit that will be installed. <br /> <br />Ms. Pons clarified that the second exit for the suite will be used as emergency exit only <br />and that children will always be kept inside until they are picked up y their parents. <br /> <br />mE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />In response to Chairman Hovingh's question, Mr. Swift advised that the Building Department <br />will verify that the double doors that will be installed will satisfy the requirements for <br />secondary access. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes June 23, 1993 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br />
