<br />,-- Commissioner Michelotti stated that she has talked to the City Atto ey in regard to a <br />conflict of interest. He has told her that she would have no conflict regard to signage. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report recommending approval of RZ 93-1 subject to the <br />conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern asked if there would be any limit as to how uch signage would go <br />up. For example, could a business put up an A-frame sign, a banne , and window signs? <br />She expressed concern that the downtown area would become surfei with signage during <br />construction time. Mr. Iserson stated that because of the temporary ture of the relaxed <br />sign regulations a business would be able to use the maximum signa available. He did not <br />think there would be a problem. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk asked the size of the A-frame signs. <br />would be the size of a realtor's sign. <br /> <br /> <br />an Hovingh said they <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk expressed some concern that once the cons ction is over that some <br />businesses might continue to exhibit an overabundance of signage. . Iserson stated that <br />pictures will be taken before signage goes up and that staff is aware f what signage was <br />existing before construction and what has been temporarily allowed d ring construction only. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />No one spoke for or against the application. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti thought that some of the businesses on the ide streets would have <br />been concerned about lack of signage. However, since no one spoke tonight, she assumed <br />they were comfortable with the conclusion. She further commented at she had come <br />downtown at 5:00 p.m. and that everything was very neat. She felt e contractor is doing <br />an excellent job of trying to be neat and putting equipment away at ght. It appeared that <br />business owners were pleased. <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern said she has also heard comments from busin s owners that the <br />construction is progressing with a minimum of inconvenience to the and shoppers. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk asked Mr. Iserson how they got word to bu <br />construction.
