u.

mEA

Mr. Swift requested that PUD-92-09, Walter and Corazon Pangani an be continued to
2/10/93; GP-92-06, Kaiser Center be continued indefinitely; and R -92-5, City of Pleasanton
be withdrawn. The Commission agreed to this request.

~

T

TED BY

Commissioner Finch called attention to the Laguna Oaks project on mal Avenue and
Foothill Road, and noted that a number of people have been four-w eel driving there. He
asked staff when the project will begin construction and whether a fi nce will be put up
around the project. Mr. Higdon stated they do not have a date as t when construction will
begin; the applicant does have a one-year extension for 1993. He a ded that it is private
property so it is up to the owner as to whether he wants to put up a fence or not.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
Tr 1 PI
Commons)
Application to subdivide an approximately 0.53 acre site into sev n townhouse lots
ranging in size from approximately 2,800 sq. ft. to 3,900 sq. ft. I cated at the southeast
corner of Palomino Drive and Concord Street. Zoning for the p operty is PUn
(Planned Unit Development) - High Density Residential District.

~
Item 5.a.

anton

Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Case Tract 6601 subject to
the conditions of the staff report.

Commissioner Finch removed himself from the discussion because 0 a possible conflict of
interest.

Commissioner Wright questioned staff as to whether the driveway w uld be of five-inch
concrete on a four-inch aggregate base. Mr. Higdon deferred that q estion to the applicant.

Commissioner Michelotti asked staff whether they have received any uestions or concerns
from City Council members. Mr. Swift replied that Councilmember om Pico had several
concerns and questions about the Chu project.

In response to Chairman Hovingh's question, Mr. Swift responded th t it is the intent of the
project to be able to sell all the units to people in the lower income b cket. At the time of
the PUD, it was thought that some of the units might be for lower or moderate income.
What staff is trying to work out with Rotary is for 100 percent lower income, which is the
way Council approved the exemption. This would put the units in th $110,000-115,000
range. They will attempt to build the units to sell at that price; if the cannot, then the issue
of exemption will be reviewed again.

Planning Commission Minutes January 27. 1993

Page 2
