Robert Bvrd <br />Application for a conditional use permit to construct a second u <br />proposed single-Camily home located at 4186 Remillard Court. <br />is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - Low Density Residential, <br />Residential, Open Space District. <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />'t over a garage of a <br />oning Cor the property <br />edium Density <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Ca UP-92-46 subject to the <br />conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk requested clarification regarding Condition 6. <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Wright's question, Mr. Swift explain that the wording of the <br />State law regarding second units is very ambiguous, and further cl 'fied the issue. At one <br />time it was anticipated that large homes would simply wall off part f the house for a second <br />unit; some have been done in other cities, but not in Pleasanton. e second way to add a <br />unit would be to add onto an existing house by actually making a h use larger; the third way <br />would be to build a detached structure. Mr. Swift advised that in r gard to the proposed <br />application, no matter how a person looks at it, it is a legal unit. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />Robert Byrd, 2117 Rheem Drive, represented the application.
