<br />,-. <br /> <br />Mr. Rasmussen presented the staff report, and recommended that the ommission adopt the <br />proposed assisted housing analysis and Housing Element update provi ions contained in the <br />Supplement to the Housing Element-3: Preservation of Assisted Hous' g. <br /> <br />Mr. Rasmussen suggested as the contracted properties are close to te tion that the City <br />could approach the various owners of assisted rental housing develop ents to see if they are <br />willing to make some kind of arrangements so existing tenants can co tinue to afford the <br />housing. He noted that one solution might be to offer the property 0 ers some kind of <br />incentives, such as rehabilitation funds and low interest loans. Mr. smussen advised that <br />the City is trying very hard to be creative in dealing with this issue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti asked Mr. Rasmussen whether the landlord s required to help a <br />tenant who might be displaced once the subsidized payments are te . ated. Mr. Rasmussen <br />did not feel that is the case at this time. Commissioner Michelotti su gested that in the <br />future this could be a requirement that the displaced person be given me type of assistance. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk called attention to Policy 24.8 on page 13 in egard to the wording <br />of "assistance."
