<br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Swift requested that UP-92-21, Valley Community Church be ontinued to July 22, <br />1992. The Commission agreed to this request. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern commented that Bellina's is still painted the wrong color. Mr. Swift <br />replied staff is working on that issue. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk called staffs attention to an area of Gold <br />Road. He noted that there is an area that is completely unlandsca and very weedy, etc. <br />He questioned whether the application had been conditioned to be I dscaped. Mr. Swift <br />replied that the area was supposed to be left in its natural state; ho ever, weed maintenance <br />was to be taken care of by the developer. Staff will investigate th matter. <br /> <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS - PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />RZ-92-2. City of Pleasanton <br />Consideration of a proposed amendment to Chapter 18.100 of e Municipal Code to <br />allow the temporary use of banners for religious institutions. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Ca RZ-92-2 subject to the <br />conditions of the staff report. He noted that public testimony had een obtained at the <br />previous Planning Commission meeting and that further public tes . mony should be taken <br />tonight. He also called attention to a modification to the amendme t which was handed out <br />tonight in regard to the acceptable size of banners to be allowed. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk questioned Mr. Swift as to whether a spo sored event in connection <br />with a major religious holiday would fit into the category under di ussion. Mr. Swift <br />replied that a sponsored event would be appropriate and that the endment has not changed <br />in that regard since the last public hearing. <br /> <br />Chairman Hovingh suggested that amendment language might be e panded to say that the <br />banners note a specific religious holiday service. Mr. Swift agr this should take care of <br />Commissioner McGuirk's concern. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />Garry Senna, 2561 Larrikeet Court, President of the Pleasanton M nisterial Association, <br />spoke in favor of the amendment.
