Mr. FfI man added that many <br />cities are now exercising a minimum amount of review in regard to street vendors. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk expressed concern that even though additio al trees might be planted <br />that they would not be adequate when the heat is too intense in sum er. Mr. Iserson <br />commented that extra trees would help, but additionally, umbrellas ould be used in outdoor <br />dining or in sitting areas until the trees are large enough to provide overage. <br /> <br />At this time Chairman Hovingh directed the Commission to address the summary of <br />questions provided by staff. They are as follows: <br /> <br />1. Should the realignment of the Ray/St. John Streets inte tion with Main Street <br />and the extension of Railroad Avenue be kept in the plan but deferred until <br />future conditions warrant and the funds are available? at are the priorities <br />on these projects? <br /> <br />The consensus of the C(lmmi<<~ion was to keep the realig ent in the plan, but <br />defer it until future conditions warrant and funds are av ilable. The priorities of <br />the projects should be determined when the need arises. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright would put St. John and Ray Street rea1ignme t as a high priority when <br />the need arises. <br /> <br />Commissioner Horan agreed with Commissioner Wright, but felt th t new development <br />should pay for the cost of realignment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahem would favor priority of the extension of Rai <br />Street, but both should be deferred until the need warrants and the <br />would favor Railroad Avenue over St. Iohn Street. <br /> <br />oad Avenue over Ray <br />nds are available.
