<br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />Chairman Mahem reminded the public they should address the pr <br />Parcels 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to medium density and asked that the <br />relevant to this issue. <br /> <br />sed redesignation of <br />keep their comments <br /> <br />Ken Benevedes, 362 Sycamore Road, owner of Lot 6, stated that it ppears that after two <br />years of going through this process that his house is still in the 75 ft setback. He asked <br />what will happen to his house if the Medium Density is approved; h also questioned what <br />would happen if he chose to develop latter than his surrounding nei bors. <br /> <br />Mr. Benevedes objected to any Medium Density redesignation of th parcels under <br />consideration. He would favor the Low Density or Office Commer ial designations and felt <br />with these designations he had some kind of control over his prope <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Rasmussen clarified for Mr. Benevedes that should he decide t subdivide in the future <br />his house could stay; it would simply be considered a legal, non-co forming structure; he <br />could still subdivide other portions of the site. <br /> <br />Mr. Benevedes wished to'state for the record that he objects to any undwall on his <br />property that would block his view. He also expressed concern that the noise level would <br />not conform to the allowed decibel level. <br /> <br />,~ Commissioner Horan, Mr. Rasmussen and Mr. Beougher assured . Benevedes that he <br />could keep his property as is for as long as he likes, and that the El Addendum illustrative <br />plan shown is only a conceptual one. Mr. Beougher said the City uld condemn his <br />property if it is considered essential, but in the history of Pleasanto , it has never done that <br />and he did not foresee the likelihood of that happening here. <br /> <br />Mr. Benevedes commented that he had been fairly comfortable with the Planning <br />Commission's decision until it went to City Council. Now he felt v ry uneasy again. <br /> <br /> <br />Linda Peterson, 5747 San Carlos Way, expressed great concern abo t the whole situation. <br />She felt she and the Advisory Committee had worked together for 0 years to come up with <br />an agreeable solution, if not perfect. It had been agreed to at the P ning Commission level <br />and now it has been changed at Council level. She felt that people ho were most adamantly <br />opposed to development in the area are now in favor of Medium D nsity and development. <br />She felt that things were being changed and that Parcels 8 and 9 sh uld not be included in <br />the Medium Density Residential designation. She did not understan the logic of Council <br />action. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued with Ms. Peterson. <br /> <br />Mary Greene, 386 Sycamore Road, commented to Ms. Peterson th at least Ms. Peterson <br />did not have to live in the area of dispute.
