<br />Sycamore and London Plane trees are excellent examples of having this feature. He further <br />explained that trees have their major root system about six feet out m the trunk; that is <br />why he went to seven feet in his recommendation. In addition, he oted that if tree roots are <br />cut rather than ripped out, it will do less damage to the tree. He so noted that tree roots of <br />one inch in diameter take about a year to recover. He felt that wi careful protection of the <br />trees on the site they would be in no danger. He presented photos of the s to the Commission. <br />He reiterated that the limbs could be tied back until the roof is on, and had no reservations in <br />approving the building location in regard to the trees. <br /> <br />Dr. Sjoberg returned to the podium and addressed a number of th conditions: Condition 2 - <br />he wished to delete; Condition 4.a. - leave open as to plant types requested by Mr. <br />Dutchover. Condition 6 - he questioned why the $5,000 bond h to be in place for a period <br />of three years. Condition 13 - he noted that this has already been taken care of. He asked <br />permission to put "courteous parking stripes" in the parking area. Condition 19 - he would <br />like for the landscape architect, Mr. Dutchover, to be able to han Ie this item. Condition 23 <br />_ He asked that if there are going to be requests for a traffic stud that this be done within a <br />year, as he felt the condition was not appropriate; he favored 7,4 sq. ft, rather than 4,500 <br />sq. ft. as noted in the condition. <br /> <br />Chairman Mahern asked Mr. Swift to clarify Condition 23 and th parking situation. Mr. <br />Swift explained the matter relating to parking and noted that Mr. joberg would like to go to <br />7,400 sq. ft. of medical office if the ordinary City rules are appli to that 7,400 sq. ft. He <br />further noted that there is some flexibility in the PUD. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh questioned the applicant as to whether a ental hygienist might <br />possibly come to work within his office confines as an independe t contractor. Mr. Sjoberg <br />indicated it was possible, but not likely to happen. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGuirk questioned Mr. Sjoberg as to why he fel he needed 11 patient <br />chairs.
