<br />Chairman Mahern said she likes the project; however, she did not ree with staff that the <br />end units should be perpendicular to the street. She would favor e end units on both <br />Division and St. Mary Street be one-story units so that the massing of the project would be <br />stepped back. The trade-off for that would be that there be no rts. She also felt that <br />the project should be conditioned to some kind of affordability and conditioned to perpetuity. <br />She added that this could be left up to staff to figure out. She felt at the parking lot <br />situation was all right and that it was not that far for people to wal . He thought the <br />addition of carports was a practical point, but would not want to i pact the affordability of <br />the project by adding them. <br /> <br />~ Commissioner Horan said he is in favor of the project and feels it is definitely needed in the <br />area. However, he was in favor of setting the guidelines for affo ility and not leaving it <br />up to staff. He would leave the two-story units on the ends; he d. not think carports were a <br />necessity; he felt the trash bin location was not attractive and coul be placed at a more <br />appropriate site; he felt walk-through traffic could be a problem d should be alleviated in <br />some way.
