<br />~ <br /> <br />unfortunately it does allow for the development of 2,640 units on ut 20 percent of the <br />7,100 acres. She knew everyone did not agree with that concept, ut felt that the citizens of <br />Pleasanton would then receive the benefit of the open space. She ged the Commission <br />support the plan and recommend that it be placed on the June ballo. She thanked Brian <br />Swift for the great amount of work and time that he put into helpin the Executive <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Elaine Tolari, 9550 Santos Ranch Road, Pleasanton, stated that she is a property owner in <br />the ridgelands. She said that the majority of the property owners s pport the plan. She felt <br />they had accomplished a lot in the last 18 months, and felt that the ridgelands would be <br />preserved for public use, as well as private use. She noted the rid es would be preserved <br />forever, that permanent open space twice the size of Tilden Park uld be given up, and that <br />facilities would be developed. She thought the plan was a good on and was ready to go to <br />the voters. <br /> <br />Thomas Pico, Jr., 795 Neal Place, Pleasanton, said he also was a ember of the committee <br />from the beginning. However, at this point, he felt the whole thin has been a sham and that <br />development will be allowed in a very sensitive area. He said he as against the way the <br />fiscal and economic feasibility studies were presented. He further ged that the plan be <br />passed on to Council and be placed on the ballot, but with a nega' e recommendation. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Jocelyn Combs, 4443 Second Street, Pleasanton, said she has been a Director of the EBRPD <br />for several years and has been on several committees involved wi the ridgelands. She <br />expressed opposition to the final plan, saying that the plan is not a ut parks or open space, <br />but simply about development. She felt it has unacceptable flaws; that it dramatically <br />impacts the most aesthetic area of Sinbad Canyon in an adverse nero She felt the plan <br />simply provides landowners in the ridgelands with windfall profits while the citizens of <br />Pleasanton get very little out of it. <br /> <br />Diane Habener, 1381 Mission Drive, Pleasanton, said she has bee on the Ridgelands <br />Committee and the Executive Committee. She said she did not a spirit of cooperation in <br />the Executive Committee and felt that the minorities on the com' were treated badly. <br />She urged that the Commission recommend the plan go to the ball t, and that they personally <br />be against the plan. <br /> <br />Geno Tolari, 9550 Santos Ranch Road, Pleasanton, said he felt t if EBRPD wanted the <br />land in the ridgelands they should have to pay for it. He felt that a property owner in the <br />hills that he should have the right for his property to appreciate as much as anyone else. <br /> <br />Emily Carson, 2574 Skimmer Court, Pleasanton, said she felt the ensity transfer concept is <br />a pipedream of the developers and realtors who sat with her on th residential subcommittee. <br />She felt that the future cost of the proposal would be ultimately b me by her and other <br />Pleasanton taxpayers.
