He was opposed to this and felt that the landscape plan had been dragged out
enough.

Mr. Swift noted that staff is in agreement with the applicant, and at probably five trees
might be too much considering the space. He suggested that this be worked out between
staff and the applicant. He does not feel it is necessary for a Ian scape plan to be submitted
prior to issuance of a building permit. He felt that Condition 11 uld be eliminated.

Commissioner Michelotti quizzed the applicant in regard to any e isting trees on the site.
Mr. Brobst said that at the present time there are no trees on the I t.

Chairman Mahem asked the applicant about the color of the hou . Mr. Brobst said that
according to the guidelines gray is the preferred color. However, he, along with the Design
Review Board, does not favor gray. They do agree to go along th a color that is
compatible.

Robert Ancilla, architect for the project, discussed the height of
Commissioner Michelotti. He indicated that the house would be omewhat visible from I-
680, but not obtrusively so. He further showed on the drawing h w it would appear to be
more of a cascading roofline. He read from the Golden Eagle F Guidelines which
indicated that the house design was in that range. He also stated e was under the
impression that staff favored the design and felt the size was acce table.

Minutes Planning Commission
January 8, 1992

Page 9
