THE CITY OF 6F <br />pL£ AS&NTON City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> May 17, 2005 <br /> Public Works Deparlment <br /> <br />SUBJECT: DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION REGARDING ACTIVITIES <br /> OF THE TRI-VALLEY TRANSPORTATION TRIANGLE <br /> POLICY ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at <br /> the meeting of May 17, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept this informational status report regarding the Tri-Valley <br /> "Triangle" Study work performed to date, and current issues. <br /> <br /> 2. Provide direction to the City's technical and policy advisory <br /> representatives to the Tri-Valley Study with regard to any <br /> outstanding issues. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: The Alameda County Congestion Management Agency (CMA) has <br /> approved a $400,000 budget to study sequencing options for <br /> improvemems to regional projects impacting the 1-580, 1-680, and <br /> Route 84 corridors. On February 15, 2005 the City Council <br /> approved the expenditure of $75,000 in local funds to expand the <br /> scope of the study. Dublin and Livermore have approved the <br /> expenditure of about $137,000 in local funds for the study. <br /> <br /> The majority of the Policy Advisory Committee has recommended <br /> that the base traffic model for the study assume the roadway <br /> networks in the three cities' General Plans. This includes the two <br /> controversial roadway elements in Pleasanton: the West Las Positas <br /> Interchange at 1-680 and the Stoneridge Drive extension to El <br /> Charro Road. <br /> <br />SR:05:134 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
