CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 05-. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION (USED <br /> OIL RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION) TO THE <br /> CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling <br /> Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and <br /> maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or <br /> appropriate disposal of used oil; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the <br /> responsibility for the administration of the program within the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will enter into an agreement with the State of California for <br /> implementation of a used oil collection program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that submission of an ongoing waste oil block grant application to educate and <br /> assist residents in the proper disposal of waste oil and filters will continue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that the Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program is funded by oil consumers in <br /> California and is administered by the California Integrated Waste Management <br /> Board and the Used Oil Grant will be managed by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br /> Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that on May 17, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old <br /> Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the <br /> above waste oil block grant <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the California <br /> Integrated Waste Management Board for a 2005/2008 Used Oil Recycling Block <br /> Grant. <br /> <br /> <br />
