PC-93-60 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE P RMIT AS FILED UNDER <br />CASE UP-93-60, THE APPLICATION OF ROBIN C OW (SHOTOKAN KARATE- <br />DO) ! <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Robin Chow (Shotokan Karate-Do as applied for a <br />conditional use permit to establis a karate (Shotokan <br />style) and dance/aerobics studio within an existing <br />multi-tenant shopping center build'ng in the Oak Hills <br />Shopping Center located at 5424 Suno Boulevard, suite 1; <br />~d ! <br />! <br /> <br />zoning for the property is C-N (Neig~borhood Commercial) <br />District; and I <br />I <br />at their duly noticed public hearingrf October 13, 1993, <br />the Planning Commission considered a 1 public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendatio s of the city staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />the Planning commission made the fotloWing findings: <br /> <br />A. The proposed location of the c~nditional use is in <br />accordance with the objectives of the zoning <br />ordinance and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. T <br />! <br /> <br />Some of the objectives of the oning ordinance are <br />to: foster a harmonious, c nvenient, workable <br />relationship among land uses, p otect existing land <br />uses from inharmonious infl ences and harmful <br />intrusions, and to insure tha public and private <br />lands ultimately are used for the purposes which <br />are most appropriate and benef cial to the City as <br />a whole. The subject buildin is located in the <br />Oak Hills Shopping Center ich is zoned C-N <br />(Neighborhood Commercial). On of the purposes of <br />this neighborhood commercial enter is to provide <br />locations to offer commodities and services to the <br />residents of Pleasanton and sur ounding areas. The <br />proposed karate/dance/aerobics studio would add to <br />the economic vitality of the Oak Hills Shopping <br />Center, possibly contributing patronage to other <br />businesses. In addition 0 increasing the <br />availability of recreational services to the <br />residents of Pleasanton, it would also provide <br />these services for the dayt me workers in the <br />immediate commercial/office/in ustrial areas. <br /> <br />.1 <br /> <br />- <br />
