PC-93-58 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PE <br />CASE UP-93-63, THE APPLICATION OF ROSE <br />SECONDS) <br /> <br />IT AS FILED UNDER <br />HINOJOS (BEST OF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Rose Hinojos (Best of Seconds) h s applied for a <br />conditional use permit to operate a econdhand clothing <br />consignment store as part of a retai store selling new <br />clothing located at 234 Main Street; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />zoning for the property is C-C (Centr <br />Area Overlay, Civic Overlay, and Down <br />District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at their duly noticed public hearing 0 <br />the Planning Commission considered al <br />relevant exhibits and recommendation <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning commission made the <br /> <br />1 Commercial) Core <br />own Revitalization <br /> <br />October 13, 1993, <br />public testimony, <br />of the City staff <br /> <br />findings: <br /> <br />A. That the proposed location of t e conditional use <br />is in accordance with the objec ives of the zoning <br />ordinance and the purpose of th district in which <br />the site is located. <br /> <br />Some of the objectives of the zing ordinance are <br />to: foster a harmonious, co venient, workable <br />relationship among land uses; pr tect existing land <br />uses from inharmonious influe ces and harmful <br />intrusions; and to insure that ublic and private <br />lands ultimately are used for he purposes which <br />are most appropriate and benefic'al to the City as <br />a whole. Based on the applic nt I s statement of <br />operations and staff's propos d conditions of <br />approval, the "Best of Second" store would be <br />consistent with these objective in that it would <br />provide a service to the commu i ty and would be <br />conducted so as to not impact or interfere with <br />surrounding businesses. <br /> <br />The building at 234 Main Stree is located in a <br />Central Commercial, Core Area Overlay, Downtown <br />Revitalization District. Some purposes of the <br />Downtown Revitalization District are to: deter the <br />inappropriate demolition, destru tion, alteration, <br />or misuse of architecturally interesting and <br />significant structures in the Do ntown; revitalize <br />the economic growth and health 0 and foster civic <br />
