PC-93-58 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE ERMIT AS FILED UNDER <br />CASE UP-93-63, THE APPLICATION OF RO E HINOJOS (BEST OF <br />SECONDS) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Rose Hinojos (Best of Seconds) has applied for a <br />conditional use permit to operate secondhand clothing <br />consignment store as part of a retail store selling new <br />clothing located at 234 Main street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />zoning for the property is C-C (Cen <br />Area Overlay, Civic Overlay, and Do <br />District; and <br /> <br /> <br />ral Commercial) Core <br />town Revitalization <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of October 13, 1993, <br />the Planning Commission considered a 1 public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendatio s of the City staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the fo lowing findings: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />That the proposed location of <br />is in accordance with the obje <br />ordinance and the purpose of t <br />the site is located. <br /> <br />he conditional use <br />tives of the zoning <br />e district in which <br /> <br />Some of the objectives of the z ning ordinance are <br />to: foster a harmonious, c nvenient, workable <br />relationship among land uses; p otect existing land <br />uses from inharmonious influ nces and harmful <br />intrusions; and to insure that pUblic and private <br />lands ultimately are used for the purposes which <br />are most appropriate and benefi ial to the City as <br />a whole. Based on the applic nt's statement of <br />operations and staff's propo ed conditions of <br />approval, the "Best of Second " store would be <br />consistent with these objective in that it would <br />provide a service to the comm ni ty and would be <br />conducted so as to not impact or interfere with <br />surrounding businesses. <br /> <br />The building at 234 Main Stree is located in a <br />Central Commercial, Core Area Overlay, Downtown <br />Revitalization District. Som purposes of the <br />Downtown Revitalization District are to: deter the <br />inappropriate demolition, destru tion, alteration, <br />or misuse of architecturally interesting and <br />significant structures in the Do ntown; revitalize <br />the economic growth and health 0 and foster civic <br /> <br />
